I’ve been 3D modeling in Maya since 2019 but as my 2026 new years resolution I decided to learn Blender
Designing, creating and building a mini game in 48 hours!
I took part in the Global Game Jam 2025 as part of a team with 5 current Games students from Staffordshire University. The theme was ‘bubbles’ and we chose to create a level-based, mini-game (with 8 levels) in Unreal Engine.

This is a vertical slice demo of a game that I made as part of a team during the Game Republic and NextGen Skills Academy Bootcamp, over a month, with the aim of demoing it at the first Game Republic event of 2025 in York.
In my spare time, I like to experiment with creating my own environments using a mix of asset packs and handmade assets, in order to keep learning and perfecting my skills.
After doing the Certificate in Virtual Production at the Academy of Live Technology over the summer of 2023, I wanted to use what I’d learnt and experiment with getting an actor to interact with a virtual environment in a VP studio.
What fosters effective teamwork? It’s not just about grouping individuals together and hoping for the best. It’s about cultivating an environment where trust, open communication, mutual respect, and a shared vision converge.
In order to complete the (Level 3) Certificate in Virtual Production at the Academy of Live Technology, and demonstrate what we’d learnt, we had to get into teams and make a a short video in 3 weeks, with a 1-day shoot in the VP studio.
