Lisa

Lisa has a degree in English Studies, a postgraduate diploma in Broadcast Journalism and an MA in Creative Writing – and you name it she’s written it!

She spent the first 10+ years’ of her career in factual TV production, first at the BBC and then freelance, before turning her skills to video production, marketing and PR, specialising in websites, social media and online and digital content.

She has particular experience with start-up businesses, software and tech companies, charities and social enterprises, creative and screen industries, education, SEND and outdoor learning. She’s an accomplished written and visual communicator and has a knack for taking your ideas and information and turning them into great stories and content that bring the results you need. She’s a firm believer in use plain English and taking complex concepts and making them simple and easy to understand. And she specialises in finding cost-effective, realistic, manageable marketing solutions that will meets your aims and objectives. Plus she can tailor her writing style to suit a range of different audiences.

She has extensive leadership, management and director-level experience and is happy to work with you on a short-term project management, producing or consulting basis (including advice and training), or a longer-term management or strategic basis. She can even commission and liaise with other creatives and agencies on your behalf (and she has some great contacts and working relationships!)

She also has a Certificate in Virtual Production, training in AI, and specialist experience in branding, PR, SEO, GDPR, email and social media marketing (paid and organic), website building and optimisation, particularly WordPress and sites with bespoke functionality, and long-form video content, including international filming.

She’s also a published poet, and emerging novelist and scriptwriter and has a number of projects in development under her creative brand, The Last Lamppost.

  • Freelance Producer/Director working on shows such as House Invaders, Baby ER, Extraordinary People
  • Freelance Video Producer creating a variety of promotional, conference and training videos, including for O2/Telefonica, Panasonic and Microsoft (via local agencies, Paradigm Creative and Leagus Video)
  • Freelance Consultant/Project Manager helping a variety of businesses review, scope out and rebuild their websites and e-commerce shops
  • Blogger – recognised as Tots100 featured blogger, and guest blogger on Mumsnet and Britmums
  • Producer, pilot app for Cbeebies, commissioned as part of BBC Connected Studios (R&D, digital storytelling and creative collaboration initiative)
  • Founder and Marketing Director of one of the first cloud accounting software companies in the UK, creating all of the branding, marketing strategy and training packages from scratch to become an award-winning, recognised name
  • Founder and Business Development Director of a specialist forest school and outdoor learning social enterprise
  • Marketing and Communications Manager of a regional VCSE Infrastructure Support Charity – overseeing merger of 2 charities and rebrand, building specialist systems and bespoke website to manage membership, events programme and collect key data for monitoring and reporting
